This was an EXCELLENT course. Materials and the ability to exercise in a simulated event was very helpful. I especially was greatful for the opportunity to exercise reunification.

I know the first day is more geared towards establishing the baseline of response timelines and familiarizing everyone with the exercise systems- as an EM, there wasn't as much I could do on the first day apart from observe.

I would have appreciated having another day of the course to further delve into the reunification and recovery pieces. More exercise of what comes AFTER an event would be helpful.

The book! As a PIO, I was not in the computer simulations or in a decision making role so the book will become a valuable resource for me to learn more about what I see and how these work.

I would have liked to practice other PIO skills beyond press conference (writing social media posts, press releases, etc/).

Sound bleed over is a problem - sometimes I didn't know if I was hearing the person I was talking to or someone else.

Being able to see the other aspects of what is going on during a massive event.

Communications was a little underwhelmed at times but it is understandable that the training material can't make communications as realistic as a real event in terms of multiple 911 calls, dispatching multiple agencies, etc.

I would find a way to make the dispatch aspect a little more hands on or agency specific (which I know would be hard to do). This training was VERY helpful, however our agency would handle the dispatch aspect very differently than it was handled in this class.
