The first day, it was not clear what was going on with the radio and the checklist. I didn't think that was worthwhile.

I think it would have been helpful to give a big picture understanding of what was going to happen for all three days. I may have missed something, but was not clear about it until later in the day. Would have liked to know more at the beginning.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

Doing more of these types of exercises with partners. A full-scale is planned, which is a great next step!.

This was one of the best courses I have attended in a long time. It took complex ideas and simplified them very well for all levels of learning and the scenarios helped to reinforce the lessons very well.

More C2 type training would be good for me.

The practical exercises. Although at times it felt like we were doing the same thing repetitively it created an opportunity to observe and participate in most aspects of the command system.

There were times when no tasks were assigned and we were standing by making that particular drill feel less productive and informative.

Try and shake up assignments a little to get people into different positions. Explain the operations of the program and how to set flags, move people etc. the first few exercises may have been smoother without the computer learning curve.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

Trying to coordinate more with neighboring agencies and law enforcement counterpart. Encouraging officers and chiefs to seek out same or similar training. Adapting what was learned her to integrate into the ASIM that is already established here.

The multiple scenarios. This allowed people to rotate through positions they wouldn't normally occupy. The part on reunification was also important, as that is not something I have dealt with or trained before.

For the scenarios, some positions could be minimized. An example would be having the perimeter monitored the entire time. I would say those spots could be initially filled and completed, and then have the student re-assigned to another spot. This allows for more training of tasks officers don't usually handle.

I think more time could be spent on intelligence and reunification.

Other supervisor training and management courses. Previous ICS classes were also beneficial.

The management of multiple resources through reunification.

For a 30 LT the ICS portion though redundant was necessary review for the course objectives.

During a found IED incident opening windows in the cleared area of the warm zone reduced overpressure and reflective overpressure should the IED detonate that may be an appropriate task as contact teams or rescue task forces are removing survivors.
