The most valuable part of the course was the section on Command and Unified Command. Understanding the importance of establishing an initial Incident Commander from law enforcement and then transitioning into a Unified Command structure as the incident evolves was especially impactful. This process promotes early coordination between agencies, saves valuable time, improves operational effectiveness, and ultimately increases the potential to save lives.
