The computer game. To me this seemed to delay the time that RTF's would put hands on and treat patients. It employes the basic concepts but their hard to understand or conceptualize unless your actually "boots on the ground" practicing this.

Knowledgeable instructors, would be interested in learning more about what worked and didnt work on prior incidents given the instructors subject matter expertise.

From an FD viewpoint, learning more about the PD tactics was helpful to guide FD tactics.

The FD aspect was not on the same track as our own SOGs, which made things difficult.

With a different SOGs from fire3 and the use of ICS in our department is different and the RTF and medical sides of things seemed to not be geared to how most FDs handle these incidents, which becomes an MCI for us once the shooter is isolated. Our ICS would follow a completely different path, with staging only be being, basically an attendant, not dispatching or sending resources themselves.

The scenarios were good, but could reduce number of scenarios to go over more case studies.

Course was great. Although in may not line up completely with our agenies SOG's, I was still able to take away valuable information. Instructors did a greeat job and displayed a wealth of real world experience in their respective fields.

This course seems a bit Law Centric, although I realize it is a law enforcement scenario. It seems like Unified Command should be utilized more than it was in the course. Also, utilize triage tags with numbers to track patients as we would when triaging patients.

The instructors repeatedly stated that " this is not the only way, it is just a way." I understand this, but it is not how we will do things in this county so the exercises were not helpful and actually counterproductive in the way we will run one of these incidents. Our goal in our group was to not remember much of the content so we won't have training scars.
