I took the course as a dispatcher. I had field experience in medical and fire which was not utilized. I believe that it would be beneficial to allow dispatch time in each of the other fields to generate true interdiscipline understanding.

The concept of send in Rescue Task Forces, even though the threat may not have been completely addressed yet.

More emphases on Dispatcher roles during an incident. I’ve been involved in Incident Management incidents where the Incident Commander relies on their dispatch (LE) center, due to feeling comfortable due to knowing the personnel, which overloads that dispatch with requests that may be outside of their discipline. Also would like to see emphasis on using common language on the radio, LE using “10” codes and EMS using Alpha, Delta, Level codes could added to the confusing environment during a mass response.
