Seeing the communication in action during the tabletop was eye opening.

One of the instructors kept referring to shooters as “genetic wastes” and things like - it’s tough guy language that comes off as extremely amateurish and it was cringey and embarrassing.

This course was a good look at how the gears should run during high stakes situations. The one instructor could take a deep breath, be confident in his knowledge, and stop with the fake tough guy routine.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

Being part of EMS it was eye opening to see how much radio traffic can be used to insure that we’re ready and on top of all the information we need just via radio communication happening around us.

How the triage groups are formed. 2 firefighters/2 LEO's.

EMS remains pretty uninvolved with actions within the course and incident. Our job is to simply be at a door and our patient will be hand delivered to us. It never seems that easy.

Please provide any other comments or suggestions you have for improving this course.

Fire can sometimes lack knowledge in triage as it is not part of Wisconsin Fire Certification. Including practice of this skill in the course would help EMS feel more involved in the course as well as help give fire more training to succeed in these scenarios.
