Combining classroom with practical exercises. I also felt that the back and forth, classroom, practical, classroom, practical was an excellent way to complete the course as opposed to doing all classroom and then all practical.

Some of the computer simulations were glitchy and some of the computer tasks and workings could have been explained better prior to starting. We kind of just got thrown into it and while I understood many things, I kept learning things I felt were basic until about half the scenarios were done and I finally felt comfortable.

Giving this class more often.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

To take this course more than once in a career. This is a perishable skill. Being over a decade into my career and 4 years into being a field supervisor the fact I haven't had this course yet until now is not ideal.

The exercises! Having the chance to do every position appropriate to my job title/qualifications allowed me to have hands on experience and apply the knowledge that I gained from this course. It showed how each position MUST work together to have a successful exercise/outcome.

Even the parts of the course that were not applicable to my job position helped me to understand the big picture of what everyone in incidents like this are working with. I think the content was helpful regardless of my ability to apply it in my position.

My only input would be to try to tailor the process to the system in the specific location you are teach in. For example, in our are EMS and Fire are separate entities so having "Engines" available in this area would not be helpful in providing medical care (in general).

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

Getting EMS and Fire personnel trained on RTF/warm zone extraction to be prepared for an active shooter incident.
