Understanding the functions of "Tactical" and establishing Command. The break down provides a good SOP to deal with complex problems.

The use of the simulation on the computer was a great take on the topic. After getting several opportunities to use the computer and get familiarized with the program it was a valuable tool.

Learning about how to talk to suspects in a hostage situation.

If there were actual dispatchers attending this course, I don't think they would get too much out of it. For boots on the ground jobs (police, fire, ems) I think this is a great course.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

I'd love more direction about how 911 operators should handle the influx of these types of calls... how to get through the call volume quickly, what questions to ask, etc.
