I recognize the virtual nature of exercises, but it still seems like the first arriving units should have to diagnose the need for incident command and subsequently assign staging areas. As a relatively new paramedic this is my great anxiety concerning mass casualty incidents-- who makes the initial decisions and how is this communicated to arriving units of varying disciplines?.

I hope that EM's may have a bigger role in the future by actually having additional mutual aid resources that could be given rather that it being assumed we can get everything.

Participating in the command board roles (triage, transport, Medical branch, etc) were where the big picture came together and a much greater understanding of the operations.

These instructors are impressively prepared. This is by far the most polished ICS class i have taken. Its engaging, interactive and the hands on portion gives true context in execution. I will reccommend this class to anyone of any rank. I hope to participate in a live action version of this class in the near future.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

Participating in a live action version of this class would be great. I also find it extremely important to push my leadership and line officers to take this course. We need to impliment these systems into our department.
