About This Resource
This brochure covers SSAVEIM™ Train-the-Trainer, a two-day, 16-hour in-person course from NCIER® (National Center for Integrated Emergency Response), the services division of C3 Pathways, Inc. Most school incidents break down because schools and responders train separately. This course brings school leaders, law enforcement, fire/EMS, and emergency management into the same room to train on one shared school incident playbook for an active shooter attack, reunification included. It follows the Standard Response Protocol and the Standard Reunification Method from the “I Love U Guys” Foundation, and it is built so your own certified trainers can repeat the training on your schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions
SSAVEIM™ (School Safety and Violent Event Incident Management) Train-the-Trainer is a two-day, 16-hour course that builds one joint team and one shared school incident playbook for schools and first responders, reunification included. Most school incidents break down because schools and responders train separately. This course aligns roles, expectations, and coordination before a crisis rather than during one.
Up to 30 trainer candidates, ideally 10 law enforcement, 10 fire/EMS, and 10 school staff, with emergency management participation encouraged. Candidates should already have a role in training, school safety, or emergency planning, and be comfortable leading groups. The course is built to unify the people who would have to coordinate during a school safety incident.
Each delivery is structured for up to 30 trainer candidates: ideally 10 law enforcement, 10 fire/EMS, and 10 school staff. Both days train this same group. Day one is the class itself, scenarios included, with candidates working it as students. Day two is teaching that class and running those scenarios within the group, so there is no separate participant audience to recruit.
Your trainers keep the curriculum, the ASIM Checklists™, and LMS access, plus a 3-year SSAVEIM Train-the-Trainer certificate each, so you can repeat the training on your schedule with no per-delivery fee from NCIER. NCIER brings Counterstrike Terrain™ digital map tables for the course; you only buy one if you want your own for local training.
Yes. Trainer candidates complete SSAVEIM Foundations™, our free self-paced online course, beforehand. It takes under an hour, registration tracks who has finished and sends reminders, and it is why day one can start with the class instead of a lecture.
