NCIER®
ALERRT at Texas State University

Active Shooter Incident Management Advanced (PER-353), also known as ASIM Advanced, was developed by C3 Pathways, Inc. and is delivered by the National Center for Integrated Emergency Response (NCIER®), the Services Division of C3 Pathways. ALERRT at Texas State University lists this course in its catalog as part of its active shooter response training program. Certified NCIER instructors teach every delivery.

The Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center at Texas State University was created in 2002 to address the need for active shooter response training. In 2013, in partnership with C3 Pathways, the ALERRT mission expanded to include integrated response training for all first responders — law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services. That same year, the FBI adopted the ALERRT program as the national training standard.

DHS/FEMA funds PER-353 deliveries through the Texas Engineering Extension Service under cooperative agreement EMW-2023-CA-05041. TEEX subawards to the ALERRT Center at Texas State University, which lists the course in its catalog. NCIER develops the course and teaches every delivery. See how ASIM Advanced deliveries are funded.

ALERRT issues the certificate of completion for deliveries requested from its catalog. A certificate records attendance at that organization's event. The course itself, its content, and the ASIM Checklist™ remain the work of C3 Pathways, Inc., delivered by NCIER.
