Kevin Beary is the retired Sheriff of the Orange County Sheriff's Office (4 terms) with over 50 years of experience in the field of law enforcement as a police officer, deputy sheriff, supervisor, manager, and command staff officer. His law enforcement management experience includes uniform patrol, tourist oriented policing, specialized patrol, police academy training, traffic enforcement, court security, and emergency management. He has a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy 143rd Session, the FBI National Executive Institute 18th Session and the FBI Leadership in Counter-Terrorism 2nd Session.
He has been a consultant, lecturer, professor and trainer at various colleges, police academies, and law enforcement agencies throughout the United States, Canada, South America, Caribbean, Southwest Asia, and Europe. He has trained over 7,000 officers in law enforcement related subjects and law enforcement tactics. He served on several committees both locally and nationally representing law enforcement operations, high-risk incident management, law enforcement aviation, intelligence operations, fusion centers, counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, use of force, and various other law enforcement training needs.

1993 - 2019, Sheriff: During his tenure, Kevin managed an agency of 3,396 personnel and a budget of $183.9 million dollars. He was selected by Governor Jeb Bush to manage the Regional Domestic Security Task Force 5. He was involved in planning the security for the 1994 FIFA World Cup, the Junior Pan-Am Games, and several high-profile Political Events.
1978 - 1989, Captain: During his 1st tenure at the Orange County Sheriff's Office Kevin worked in Uniform Patrol, K-9, Aviation, Street Crimes Unit, SWAT Operations, Emergency Response Team, Mounted Patrol, and Emergency Management. He was also a certified instructor for the Seminole County Police Academy and the Mid Florida Tech Police Academy.

As Captain of the NASA/Kennedy Space Center SWAT team, Kevin was responsible for scheduling, emergency response planning, special operations, astronaut protection, and Shuttle protection. Kevin worked with SWAT Trainers to re-engineer the KSC SWAT Team operational and training procedures.
