Kelly Boaz retired as an Explosive Operations Specialist for the FBI. He has a BA in Criminal Justice Administration. Kelly is a Certified Bomb Technician, National Registered Emergency Medical Technician, Explosive Breacher, Certified FBI Instructor, and WMD Coordinator. He was a former member of USAR FL-TF4 Urban Search and Rescue Task Force for Central Florida and has experience with mass casualty incidents and disaster response, to include the Nashville bombing and bombings overseas. Kelly served as bomb tech and commander on hundreds of explosive related calls, mass casualty incidents, and hazmat related disasters. Kelly was a certified undercover employee for the FBI for 10+ years, infiltrating criminal and terrorist organizations. He was the Deputy Program Manager for the FBI and responsible for recertifying all public safety bomb technicians in the United States. Kelly holds a Top Secret/SCI Clearance.

Deputy Program Manager
Kelly served as an active bomb tech and instructor at Redstone Arsenal, in Huntsville, Alabama. He was promoted to Deputy Program Manager for Recertification, a position he held until 2020. He was transferred to the Stabilization Program where he managed the chemical and biological threat for dispersal devices. Kelly worked extensively with national labs during this time.

During his tenure, Kelly was a deputy sheriff with the Orange County Sheriff's Office and served in numerous capacities to include detective, gang agent, violent crime detective, organized crime, certified defensive tactic instructor, public safety diver, bomb technician, and bomb and dive team commander. He fostered a relationship with Orange County Fire Department Hazmat team which became a model for the country on explosive related and hazmat calls for service. Kelly worked undercover and explosive related offenses with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force from 2006-2016.

During his tenure, Kelly was a part of the entry team during the "Palm Bay Massacre" incident in April of 1987, where a shooter shot over 20 civilians and killed six.
