Personal Profile

Kami Maertz has been with the Clay County Sheriff's Office since 2009. Kami started her career with the Sheriff's Office as a civilian sex offender specialist, responsible for registering and tracking all sexual offenders and sexual predators for Clay County. In 2011, she attended the police academy at St Johns River State Community College and returned to the Sheriff's Office as a patrol deputy. During her time with the Sheriff's Office, Kami has also been assigned to a high crime patrol task force, General Investigations, Special Victim's Section, and Internal Affairs. In 2018, Kami was promoted to Sergeant where she supervised patrol before being transferred to supervise the Narcotic/VICE Section. In 2020 Kami was promoted to Lieutenant and returned to patrol to serve as a watch commander. Kami also serves as a team lead on the Sheriff's Office Negotiations Team.

Kami has worked in a myriad of positions across Clay County Sheriff's Office. Kami worked in a civilian capacity responsible for tracking, registering, and providing information to citizens regarding sexual offenders and predators. Kami worked as a patrol deputy before joining Operation Safe Streets, a high-crime patrol task force. Kami transferred to investigation where she worked as a detective in General Investigation, Special Victims Section, and Internal Affairs. Kami promoted and was transferred to Narcotic/VICE section. Kami served as the supervisor over numerous high-risk operations related to VICE/Human Trafficking and narcotics. During this time, Kami worked alongside DEA and Homeland Security task forces. Kami was then promoted to Lieutenant and serves as a watch commander for patrol. Kami has served for many years on the agency's Negotiation Team including over 4 years as a Team Leader.
