Jon Drollinger, Officer

Jon provides instruction with an emphasis on Law Enforcement. He is involved in classroom instruction and simulation hands-on training.

Jon has served in a variety of roles with Madison PD including 10 years on patrol, the Dane County Narcotics Task Force, and Training Division. As a Special Events Team Member he was involved in multiple crowd control situations including peaceful and violent protests, events, Presidential and dignitary visits and the 2020 riots. He has been a SWAT Team Member since 2012 with primary responsibilities of shield operator, and maintaining inventory and organization of equipment monitored and regulated by the ATF. With his expertise in training and development, Jon provides evaluations of tactics and SOPs for SWAT as well as researching new equipment and tactics. Jon has the distinction of having the longest time served as an undercover officer in the history of the Dane County Narcotics Task Force, completing over 150 undercover operations and the apprehension of countless high-risk violent offenders. Jon was a member of the Madison PD Emergency Preparedness Committee from 2018-2020 and served as a MPD Recruiting Team Member from 2021-2024. He became the Full-Time Training Officer responsible for Academy and Professional Development Training in 2022.
