JAY DARIN has been a Special Agent with the FBI for over 23 years. He is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, with a Bachelor in Business Administration/Accounting. As the FBI's Active Shooter Coordinator for the State of Wisconsin, Jay built, coordinated and currently manages a statewide active shooter response training program for both first responders (Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS) and civilians. In 2017, Jay developed and initiated the annual Wisconsin Active Threat Integrated Response Conference. He is now the Chairperson for that conference, which has become the largest integrated conference held in Wisconsin. Since 2013, SA Darin has trained more than 6,000 first responders and countless civilians in active shooter response tactics and active shooter incident management. SA Darin has taught nationally and even internationally, leading a team of FBI personnel who provided active shooter response training to law enforcement officers in Brazilia, Brazil in September 2019.

Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT)
Certified Instructor
Jay has been a Certified Instructor (CI) with ALERRT since 2013. The ALERRT Center at Texas State University was created in 2002 to address the need for active shooter response training for first responders. In 2013, ALERRT at Texas State was named as the National Standard in Active Shooter Response Training. Jay was a graduate of the second class of FBI agents who became ALERRT Certified Instructors. As an ALERRT CI, Jay has taught over 175 individual courses in Wisconsin, nationally and also in Hawaii, Guam, and Brazil.

Jay is currently assigned as the Active Shooter Coordinator, Special Events Coordinator and Training Coordinator for the FBI's Milwaukee Field Office. Prior to Milwaukee, SA Darin was assigned to the Chicago Field Office where he worked primarily gang/drug crime on the FBI/Chicago Police Department Joint Task Force on Gangs (JTFG). Upon his transfer to Milwaukee, SA Darin was assigned to the Milwaukee High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Drug/Gang Task Force. Jay was the FBI case agent on numerous high profile gang investigations and received numerous awards and commendations, including the "2011 Investigation of the Year." Jay has been an FBI Firearms Instructor since 1999, an FBI Tactical Instructor since 2010 and an ALERRT Active Shooter Instructor since 2013. SA Darin received his EMT Basic and SWAT certifications in 2003.
