Dan Williams continues to enjoy his 36 years of dedication to Fire and EMS in southern Wisconsin. He served for over 20 years as a firefighter/EMT, then Lieutenant for a volunteer agency, and continues to serve in his 31-year long professional career for the City of Madison Fire Department, currently holding the position of Division Chief of EMS Training and Logistics. In addition to his Fire & EMS duties, Dan takes pride in having served for over 20 years as the regional trauma system coordinator for 13 counties. Dan championed the Wisconsin Tourniquet Initiative for Law Enforcement, which provided a tourniquet device to every requesting law enforcement officer in the state. He is passionate about better integrating all first responders and health care providers to promote optimal outcomes.

For more than 20 years, Dan coordinated the South Central Wisconsin Regional Trauma Advisory Council. In this role, he was dedicated to advancing trauma care by providing evidence-based education for both prehospital and hospital providers, analyzing trauma data to identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes, and leading injury prevention initiatives to address emerging trends in traumatic injury.

Dan began his fire service career as a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Shorewood Hills Fire Department, where he later served as a Lieutenant. In this leadership role, he served as the department's Training Officer, developing and delivering training programs while mentoring firefighters and EMTs in the delivery of emergency medical and fire services. His leadership fostered a strong culture of teamwork, professional development, and community service.
