Chad Lake has spent 18 years with Orange County Fire Rescue. He is an accomplished and experienced fire service and emergency management professional with a strong focus on leadership and professional development. Recognized for excellence in training and special operations, Chad has a proven track record in emergency management and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency. He has served as Lead Recruit Training Officer for Orange County's recruit orientation program, overseeing the training of nearly 1,000 recruits, and has managed multiple large-scale drills involving up to 75 employees per drill. Chad is one of the original members of Orange County's Unmanned Air System (UAS) team and has served as on-call Drone Support since 2022. He is a core instructor for Orange County's ASHER (Active Shooter Hostile Environment Response) Training program and a certified member of Orange County's bike team.

Chad has served in a variety of roles including Lead Recruit Training Officer for Orange County's recruit orientation program in which he has overseen the training of nearly 1000 recruits. During his time at Orange County he has also managed multiple large-scale drills involving up to 75 employees per drill. Chad was one of the original members of Orange County Unmanned Air System (UAS) which includes pre and post aerial mapping of target hazards, flood zones, and stations. Since 2022 he has served as on-call Drone Support to conduct reconnaissance of emergency hazards such as brush fires, wide-area searches for victims and submerged vehicles, and structure fires. Chad is a core instructor for Orange County's ASHER (Active Shooter Hostile Environment Response) Training program, collaborating with departments and municipalities to educate first responders and law enforcement using NFPA 3000 guidelines. He is a certified member of Orange County's bike team, delivering swift emergency response and 911 activation services during densely populated events and high-traffic areas ensuring rapid and efficient assistance to citizens and visitors.
