Interaction with other departments and the nuggets of information I was able to pull to take back to my facility.

This course was geared to LE, EMS and Fire - not to the professional All Hazard responder I was not utilized or included in the scenarios and had to insert myself to assist the students that had never done IC, Tactical or Area Command before.

At my level this course would be more beneficial if the Emergency Manager was engaged in the capacity that they were at. A local EM has a certain skill set - the Federal EM has a completely different skill set that was under utilized during this course.

I spent a majority of the time during this course providing instruction on how to effectively manage resources during a complex event. My involvement in the scenario portion of this course only began on the third day of class and only consisted of exercising pre existing knowledge.
