The qualifications and experience of instructors.

Which part(s) of the course was LEAST valuable to you? Please explain why.

For the purposes of the basic course, the lack of statistical information to foster student buy-in genuinely diminished my overall buy-in, as there is not much to bridge a LEO from this training as a concept to real-world implementation and best practice.

Please provide any other comments or suggestions you have for improving this course.

This training is a difficult sell to LEO’s who primarily have limited engagement with the ICS structure on a routine basis. The board game is truly not something that resonates with me as an experienced responder. It’s clunky, confusing, and difficult to convey as a meaningful exercise beyond the requirements of the course.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

Hands on experience and training. Training outside of management strategies which will actually improve an officers knowledge, skills, and ability to effectively manage traumatic injuries and save lives beyond “this is something you’ll need to think about”.
