Which part(s) of the course was MOST valuable to you. Please explain why.

The most valuable part of the course was learning how law enforcement, fire, and EMS work together during an active shooter incident. I found the information about Rescue Task Forces, Casualty Collection Points, and the different roles during an emergency especially useful because it showed me how important teamwork and communication are.

Which part(s) of the course was LEAST valuable to you? Please explain why.

The least valuable part for me was some of the repeated information throughout the course. I understand why the information was repeated, but some sections felt like they covered things we had already learned. I think having less repetition would make the course more engaging.

Overall, I thought the course was useful and informative. I think adding more real-life examples, videos, or scenarios would make the material easier to understand and keep students more engaged. Hands-on activities or practice scenarios would also be helpful.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

I think additional hands-on training would be most important, especially training that involves working with law enforcement, fire, and EMS together during an emergency. Practicing realistic scenarios would help me feel more prepared to respond effectively during an actual incident.

Overall general structure led to a great explanation of how seen management and other cohesive opportunities work together to provide a strong scene command during a active shooting incident.

Although there’s great points, there could be maybe a little more detail at some point. Overall, this was a great oversight.

This course is a great oversight, aligning itself with aspects from FEMA and other sources.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

FEMA is always great but I have recently found the national institution of Justice and I’m looking into doing some courses.

I enjoyed how the course was hands on, and we were able to be included.

I believe that the least valuable part of the course was the pre-test and post-test. This is information that can be forgotten quickly because we do not receive constant training for it.

I think seeing the instructors perform the scenario quickly would have showed the class how it should have been done. Most of us seemed lost because we never did anything close to this.

Field operation trainings like firearms shooting and combat courses are important.
