There was little for Emergency managers to do although they were included in the course. there was no role for EM's in the scenario or any EOC activation for support of area command.

Incorporate EM and EOC thing about prolonged field care and tactics.

Instructors constantly stopping us during the exercise to ask what we were doing instead of being able to visually see us doing the actions.

Some of the instructors contradicted themselves with thoughts/guidance/recommendations. Some instructors actually got upset with responders when they tried to discuss "we are doing this for the training; however, we do it different here".

The course advanced my knowledge of tactics and considerations on the scene of an active shooter incident.

Almost zero engagement for emergency management. There were many times EM could have been engaged, beyond just area command, and wasn't.

More involvement from emergency management or take off emergency management as a discipline advertised as appropriate for the course. Modern and professional emergency management has the capability set to assist greater than sit by and say, "we can get help from the neighboring county".

This course was geared to LE, EMS and Fire - not to the professional All Hazard responder I was not utilized or included in the scenarios and had to insert myself to assist the students that had never done IC, Tactical or Area Command before.

At my level this course would be more beneficial if the Emergency Manager was engaged in the capacity that they were at. A local EM has a certain skill set - the Federal EM has a completely different skill set that was under utilized during this course.
