The practical exercises were a positive, where the absence would not solidify the instruction.

As a dispatcher, I learned nothing useful in the dispatch role in the exercise. Rotate dispatchers to officers roles and vice versa. The mutual understanding from seeing each other side of the isle is a great unifier. I feel like this course didn't give a dispatcher much interaction.

The scenarios are heavily geared towards field units. While there is a dispatch station, one it is kicked off, dispatch's role is reduced.

Learning each branch of the incident and working alongside them.

Scribing at the sections - as a dispatcher, this likely wouldn't be happening.

As a dispatcher, I would recommend involving them more with the incident as it goes on by splitting channels so as not to have everyone on the same talkgroup. Having worked these incidents, this is how we have handled it.

Further implementing these tactics in a more live simulation.
