The most valuable portion was the Tactical role. That is the most real world position that I could be in. It was a good experience coordinating with other agencies.

I think the admin positions of PIO or Intelligence in this environment are not beneficial as I would not be in those positions in real life. It took away some of the training being in those roles.

When in the simulation, there are long periods of time if you're a police officer as part of the RTF that you are not doing anything and people tend to wander. If it could maybe have police arrive at the same time, then start having them be re-tasked with being RTFs.

More command or tactical scene training.

Being assigned a role that mirrors my real life expectations, having to take in information, make a decision either by myself or with my group, and to relay that to responding personnel. Very good.

The course instructors are masters of their craft. They were obviously very competent and good at relaying information. However, early on, I felt that I didn't have enough background information to hit the ground running. This all eventually fell into place as the scenarios went on, and maybe that's what is expected.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

I need continued ASIM training with my own agency and local partners. I need to help train our region to develop the personnel and to sustain a program that lasts beyond one practitioners career.

Managing hospital capabilities and loads, as our Federal site would off load that.

I'd add color coordination to the Check List hand out, to ease with following the transition of Call Signs and Responsibilities. IE First LE is Command, then Command moves to Supervision, etc.

Practicing the skills and getting more reps using the material and new terminology.
