Being in EMS for over 20 years, this is by far the best active shooter class I have had the privilege to attend.

All of the course but to be specific, the scenario based training were amazing and the focus on coordination between EMS & PD was amazing.

The simulations and real-life examples made the learning less theoretical and more real.

I believe all components of the class were needed to make it successful.

The medical interventions take a very long time. Applying TQs and chest seals do not take the same amount of time as a head to toe assessment.

Bringing the information from a management level and training field employees to utilize this system.

Using actual radios to communicate; Computer simulation made it easer to focus on broader aspects of the training. I have only done similar training with patient actors or manikins.

Based on my position in early scenarios, I missed a lot of important points that only came through in the 2nd and 3rd day. I don't know if there is a way to fix this and get so many people through.

The large size of the room was beneficial in most aspects but hearing some of the instructors and seeing the presentations was difficult at times.

More training in emergency management and applying these ideas locally.
