On our first podcast in 2018, we discussed seven common misconceptions surrounding Active Shooter Incident Management, including the importance of dispatch, the tendency to over-focus on neutralizing the threat, waiting for the “all clear” from law enforcement, lack of integration across disciplines, unified command, joint command, and the role of the command post. In today’s episode we revisit these topics to assess our progress and identify areas that still need improvement. We will also examine new misconceptions that have emerged and discuss strategies to overcome them.
