Nothing really could top this. One of the best corses I have taken in my 21 year public safety career.

Learning all the different components to an active shooter incident.

The practical aspect. as a dispatcher it didn't feel as realistic since the responding officers more or less talked to each other rather than dispatch.

Please provide any other comments or suggestions you have for improving this course.

I think it would be a great idea to have a shorter class for just dispatch and the ways we can better support the responding personnel.

Believe this class made it known that a class on "is the caller the suspect".

The practical portion brought the most value. it taught me how to effectively handle each situation as they were brought to me.

Most of the reading material, due to it being directly geared toward police fire and ems personnel.

I would suggest making the scenarios include dispatch more.

Negotiator training as well as continuing education for dispatching.

I feel the CAD system should allow the dispatchers to be able to change the unit status to responding on scene and clear status.
